UPDATE : COVID-19 PROTOCOL UPDATE

We will continue to follow our same protocol with curbside service. Please take into consideration that with our current protocol, preventative appointments may need to be scheduled out several weeks.

At this time, we are accepting phone calls Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:30pm. We are scheduling appointments Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:40pm. Please keep in mind our lobby is closed to all persons except staff members, as we continue our best attempt to keep everyone healthy and safe.

*The restriction on non-essential procedures has been lifted, because of this we are able to resume procedures that are non-life threatening. Due to the backlog of patients needing these procedures, please expect to schedule further out than typical.

As always, we greatly appreciate your kindness and patience during these times!

UPDATE : SCHEDULING PREVENTIVE CARE

As you know we have been limiting our appointments to urgent care and preventive care for pets that are at higher risk of contracting disease during the Stay At Home Order. As Governor Walz starts to lighten restrictions, we feel comfortable scheduling appointments for all pets whose vaccinations and preventive care are due. We will continue to follow our same protocol with curbside service. Since this protocol does not allow us to be as efficient with our time, please be aware that preventive care appointments may need to be scheduled out several weeks, as we need to continue to allow time for urgent matters that come up short notice. We know this has been a difficult, confusing, and overall stressful time for both our clients and staff. We continue to ask for your kindness and patience so we can all work through this together!

*At this time the restriction on non-essential procedures that use personal protection equipment has not been lifted, although Governor Walz is potentially making an announcement next week regarding that matter. So as of today, we are still not able to schedule any surgical procedures that are non-life threatening.

We would like to make you aware of several updates:

  • We will have new business hours starting Monday March 30th. Our lobby will be open from 7:30AM to 5:00PM
    • Surgery drop-off will be between 7:30AM and 8:00AM / Patients will need to be picked up by 4:45PM
    • Appointments will be available between 8:00AM and 4:20PM
    • Appointments after 5:00PM will not be available until regular business hours resume
  • We have been ordered by the State of Minnesota that all non-essential/elective procedures that utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) be postponed until further notice.
    • This means that we are unable to perform spays, neuters, declaws, or any procedure that is deemed routine or non-life threatening.
    • We are still able to perform procedures that, without being performed, pose a threat to the patient's life. These situations will have to be decided with Dr. Boysen or Dr. Pietig on a case to case basis.
  • We are continuing to send out routine reminders so you are aware of your pet's exam and vaccination status.
    • We believe it is important to:
      • keep rabies vaccinations in good standing
      • keep lyme, leptospirosis, and bordetella vaccinations in good standing if your pet is at risk of contracting these bacterial diseases
      • have puppies and kittens receive their DHP vaccination series and rabies vaccination
    • *PLEASE NOTE WE WILL BE MORE SELECTIVE OF APPOINTMENTS DURING THE EXECUTIVE STAY AT HOME ORDER*
    • If you decide to schedule an appointment, we will be looking ahead to see if there are other services that can be performed early to minimize the number of visits to the hospital
    • If you choose to forego scheduling a visit and waiting until a later date, we understand.

The protocol below will continue to be followed. We again thank you for your patience!

The COVID 19 pandemic has reached the St Cloud area. As a reminder, pets are NOT known carriers of the virus and, to the knowledge of the global health authorities, CANNOT become sick or transmit the disease.

After much thought and deliberation, and in an attempt to keep our staff healthy and continue to serve your pet’s needs during these uncertain times, we have made the decision to restrict all client access to our hospital.  We will continue to operate, but our protocols will be temporarily adjusted.

No persons except for Hospital Staff will be allowed to enter the building.

Effective immediately all appointments and surgeries will be drop off only.

Unfortunately we need to be vigilant in enforcing this policy to the fullest and no exceptions will be made. We understand that difficult situations may arise, such as if your pet has an emergency or requires end of life services. We ask that you respect our policy as it increases the chances of keeping our staff healthy and able to continue serving you and your pets.

Upon arrival at our clinic we ask that our clients remain in their cars and call the receptionist to alert us to your arrival.  We ask that cats arrive in a carrier and dogs have either a leash or arrive in a carrier. You will be checked in by one of our team members over the phone, and when we are ready to see your pet, one of our team members will retrieve them from your vehicle. You will have the chance to speak with the doctor over the phone regarding your pet’s appointment before the end of your visit and will be able to pay over the phone at that time. When your pet’s appointment is complete, one of our staff will bring your pet back to your car, along with any medications or products needed.

We will be prioritizing emergency/sick patients over wellness visits.

If you are picking up medications or food please call ahead and pay over the phone. We will bring your items to the car for you.

This protocol will be in place until further notice, but we will update you as soon as the decision is made to run business as usual once again. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.  Our primary goal is to mitigate a potential quarantine situation and to remain open to serve our clients and their pets in the coming days, weeks and months.

Please know that our #1 priority is to protect the health of our clients and staff during this pandemic. As additional information and recommendations are made available changes may be made to this protocol in the future. Updates will be posted on Facebook and our website in the future. If you have questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call us at (320) 258-5400. Please be patient as our phone system will be busier than usual.
